Review Sen Trang An Vietnamese Restaurant - Google Review is what we use to determine our destination to eat while travelling, including this Vietnam trip. In Vietnam, we saw this place is a high rating of 4.9 / 5, but it seemed so unique then we decided to go there. We tried to prove that the rating was correct. Or if it was a fake rating.
HIDDEN LOCATION
The location is in the Old Quarter area, the famous area for tourists, to be honest. We arrived at the Google Maps point, but where was the restaurant? We only saw the name. We weren't the only confused people there, the other guests were in the same situation like us.
It's a hidden gem and is located in a hidden place! This restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the building. Can you believe it is so tiny, it only has like 5 tables but is always full of people eating there.
OUR BEST MEAL?
My partner starts to wonder if this is the right place. How can this small place have a good review? Even the place is far away from beautiful? Well, that's true. Don't judge the book by its cover.
We gave it a try by ordering 2 dishes. The first dish, Bun Cha, arrived. Bun Cha is like Vietnamese version of a meatball, and you eat that with rice noodles. It cost only VND 85000 but the portion wow just so big. Then I saw the other table, and I started to realize if all the food portion here is big enough for 2 people. That's why you should just order as same as the number of the people who are eating.
FYI, soup and vegetables here are free, and you can refill them. Isn't it amazing? What's funny is I thought when the first food arrived, that's all that we ordered. Because that's already enough for our lunch.
Then after 10 mins, the other thing just arrived, rice and fried tofu. We were so confused because we didn't order that. Guess what? That big portion of tofu and rice is a compliment for our 2nd dish, which is Duck with lemongrass VND 175000. I was so shocked what a big portion for 2 people.
The unique thing about this place, beside the food is so good, is the experience. The owner will come to your place for every dish you order and teach you how to eat that. Believe me, that was such an incredible experience. We can't finish the food, and we ask for takeaway box.
