TIPS! BACPACKER TO VIETNAM ON A BUDGET

Want to explore Vietnam (especially Ho Chi Minh City) on a budget? Here's my tips for you!

Ba Na Hills - Da Nang

1. Accomodation

When it comes to accomodation, online booking is the best option than on the spot. I always use booking.com (use my referal link for USD15 OFF https://www.booking.com/s/35_6/a86e89af ). Accomodation in Vietnam is cheap, if you're a solo backpacker, dorm is the best choice for you, in Ho Chi Minh City, District 1 is the best area. But if you're travelling with friends or family, apartment is the best choice. In my last trip, I rent an apartment for $30/ night and fit for 5 people.

2. Transportation

There are many options that you can find in Vietnam, for example in Ho Chi Minh city you can take public bus, taxi, online taxi car, online motorbike car, or even rent a motorbike on your own. But personally I think the road in Ho Chi Minh City is the craziest, so crowded many seems like the drivers there is impatient. For taxi ofcourse there are taxi scam, but you can trust Mai Linh Taxi. Personally I use Grab Car  apps everywhere I go in Ho Chi Minh because it has fix price and cheap! Or if you're a solo traveller, Grab bike is the choice for you.

3. Eat in Vietnam

Vietnam is heaven! I could here everytime here, So cheap and delicious. For me, district 1 still the best to find foods. Btw if you eat in a local place you will get best price but they don't speak english. And you might not understand the menu (based on my experience). Pho is usually cost me about VND 45.000 but in a local place that I found near my apartment, it's only VND20.000 can you believe it?

4. Tourist Attraction

Beside the famous tourist attraction that has entrance fee, there's also tourist attraction which is free. For example Saigon Post office, contemporary art gallery. One of them that I found very interesting is Couleurs by Rehahn Fine Art Photography in Ho Chi Minh or Hoi An. If you love street photography, vietnam is the best place to go!
